When capability hides the strain
The business is moving. You feel stuck.
You may be keeping a company running, building something of your own or holding a demanding role in a large organisation. People rely on your judgement. You solve problems, stay available and absorb uncertainty. From outside, you look capable. Inside, you may feel anxious, flat, resentful or unable to stop.
There may be no obvious place to say that. Employees need reassurance, colleagues have their own interests and people at home may already feel they only get what is left of you. Success can make it harder to admit you are struggling, especially when you believe you should feel grateful for what you have built.
Private Therapy & Coaching gives you a place to bring the personal experience beneath your responsibilities. You do not have to translate everything into a business problem. Your anxiety, relationships, anger, disappointment and uncertainty deserve attention in their own right.
What might bring you here
You are available to everyone, except yourself.
- You cannot switch off.A free evening becomes checking messages, revisiting decisions or anticipating the next problem. Rest feels uncomfortable or undeserved.
- You feel alone with responsibility. You edit what you say because you do not want to worry your partner, undermine confidence or expose uncertainty at work.
- Your relationships are feeling the cost. You are distracted, impatient or withdrawn. Ordinary requests can feel like another demand, followed by guilt about your reaction.
- Your identity has narrowed. You know what you deliver, but have lost touch with what you enjoy, need or want beyond being useful and dependable.
- You understand the pattern but keep repeating it.You promise yourself a boundary, then override it when someone is disappointed or something feels at risk.
The person behind the role
Space to understand what keeps you carrying so much.
The immediate pressure may be work. The pattern can reach further: feeling responsible for other people’s emotions, finding approval through achievement, avoiding conflict or fearing that everything will unravel if you loosen your grip. You can examine these possibilities without assuming that any one explanation must fit you.
Sonia brings therapeutic understanding and practical coaching together. There is room to explore how earlier relationships and experiences influence what feels safe now, alongside the situations you want to handle differently. That might mean speaking honestly at home, tolerating someone’s disappointment, asking for support or noticing when a reasonable commitment becomes an obligation you cannot question.
The work stays connected to your actual circumstances. A small business owner cannot always step away without consequences, and an executive may have limited control over organisational demands. Sessions make room for those constraints while helping you see where you still have choices. You can take your responsibilities seriously and give your own inner health a place in the decisions.
If exhaustion is your main concern, explore online burnout therapy. If constant anticipation and overthinking are taking over, online anxiety therapy explains that part of the work in more detail.

Working with Sonia
Experience with the emotional and practical sides of change.

Sonia has over 15 years of therapeutic, coaching and leadership experience. Her qualifications include personal counselling, relationship counselling and life coaching. You can read about her therapeutic qualifications and clients’ experiences before deciding whether her approach feels suitable.
For some people, business ownership or a demanding professional role also sits alongside neurodivergence. The effort of masking, managing competing demands or recovering after sustained social contact may be part of the picture. You can discuss your experience without needing a diagnosis or treating every difficulty as a symptom. Read about support for neurodivergent lives if that feels relevant.
Sessions are online only. Sonia’s practice is based in Bicester and works with clients across the UK and worldwide. You will need a private place where you can speak freely, with enough space around the session to return to your day. The initial consultation is a chance to discuss practical arrangements as well as what you want help with.
If your priority is your leadership role, team relationships or professional development, explore executive coaching. Here, the focus is personal support: how you feel, how you relate and the life you want alongside your work.

Frequently asked questions
Is this personal therapy or executive coaching?+
This is personal Therapy & Coaching. Your work may be part of the conversation, but the focus is your emotional life, relationships, boundaries and inner health. If you want to work specifically on leading, managing or developing your professional role, Sonia also offers a separate executive coaching service.
Do I need to be burnt out before I begin?+
No. You can begin when the way you are living no longer feels workable, even if you are still meeting every deadline. Feeling stuck, unable to switch off or increasingly distant from people you care about is enough to bring to a consultation.
Will I be expected to leave my job or business?+
There is no predetermined answer about what you should do. You can explore what is happening, what matters to you and what changes are realistic. Sonia works with you to understand your choices rather than steering you towards a particular career decision.
Can I bring neurodivergence or creative work into the sessions?+
Yes. You can discuss how attention, energy, sensory demands, masking or creative identity affect your experience. You do not need a diagnosis to describe what is difficult. The consultation is a place to discuss the support and adaptations you would find helpful.
How do sessions and fees work?+
Sessions take place online and usually last 45 minutes. Standard individual sessions are £95 when paid by Direct Debit or £110 as a one-off session. A free 20-minute online consultation lets you discuss suitability, availability and payment arrangements before deciding whether to begin.
