When anxiety is taking up too much room

You may be getting through the day while never quite feeling at ease inside it.

Anxiety can make ordinary life feel harder to inhabit. Your mind may keep moving ahead, looking for what could go wrong or replaying what you wish you had said. You may avoid a conversation, a journey, a decision or a feeling of uncertainty, then feel frustrated that the same fear keeps returning.

Sometimes anxiety arrives with a clear trigger. At other times, it gathers gradually around work, relationships, health, money, change or responsibility. You may be outwardly capable, yet find that sleep, concentration, patience or your sense of connection are beginning to suffer.

Online anxiety therapy gives you a confidential place to bring what is happening without needing to minimise it or explain it perfectly. Sonia works with you to understand the pattern, make room for the feeling underneath it and develop practical changes you can use in the moments anxiety usually takes over.

What anxiety can look like

It does not always look like panic.

  • Your mind rarely settles. You keep planning, checking, researching or replaying conversations, even when you are exhausted by the effort.
  • Uncertainty feels difficult to tolerate.A decision, a message or an unknown outcome can feel urgent long before it truly needs an answer.
  • You are avoiding more than you want to.You put off difficult tasks, conversations or situations because the anticipated feeling seems too much to face.
  • Your body is carrying the pressure. You may feel tense, restless, depleted or unable to switch off, even when there is no immediate problem to solve.
  • Relationships are beginning to feel the strain. You may need repeated reassurance, withdraw to protect yourself, become irritable or find it hard to say what you need.

The work

Understand the anxiety, then make your response more workable.

Anxiety is not a personal failing or something you can simply reason away. It often has a logic: a way of trying to protect you from uncertainty, disappointment, criticism, loss or a feeling you have learned to manage alone. That does not mean it has to keep directing your choices.

Therapy & Coaching makes space for both parts of the work. You can look honestly at what your anxiety is connected to, including the experiences, relationships and responsibilities that have shaped how safe it feels to slow down, ask for help or get something wrong. You can also work with the real situations in front of you: a boundary you need to hold, a difficult conversation, a decision you are postponing or a habit of reassurance-seeking that is making life smaller.

Sonia’s approach is thoughtful and practical. The aim is not to promise that you will never feel anxious again. It is to help you recognise when anxiety is speaking, regulate enough to have a choice, and respond in ways that support your mental health, inner health and wellbeing over time.

The pace is shaped around you. Some sessions may centre on reflection and emotional processing. Others may focus on a small, concrete change that you can test between sessions. What you notice when you try it becomes part of the work, so insight can become something steadier in everyday life.

How anxiety therapy can take shape

A process that stays close to your real life.

01

Start with what is happening now

Talk through the situations, thoughts and feelings that are taking up the most room, without needing a complete account of why they are there.

02

Understand the pattern

Notice what tends to trigger anxiety, what you do to get relief and where that response may be keeping the cycle in place.

03

Practise a different response

Work with clearer boundaries, more useful self-talk, honest conversations and ways to meet uncertainty without letting it make every decision.

04

Bring it back to everyday life

Return to what happens between sessions, so the work stays connected to your relationships, responsibilities and the life you want to live.

Online, from wherever you are

Private support without another journey to manage.

Sessions take place online, from Sonia’s practice in Bicester with clients across the UK and worldwide. You can join from a quiet, private space that gives you enough room to speak openly. There is no fixed programme or requirement to arrive with the right words.

This work can be helpful when anxiety is affecting how you think, feel, relate or work. If relationship difficulties are at the centre of what you are carrying, you may also want to explore online relationship counselling. If burnout or wider patterns of overwhelm are your main concern, personal Therapy & Coaching gives you a broader place to begin.

If you are in immediate danger or feel unable to keep yourself safe, please contact emergency services or an appropriate urgent mental-health service rather than waiting for a consultation.

A considered first step

You do not have to solve it all before you ask for support.

A free 20-minute online consultation gives you space to talk about what is happening and decide whether working with Sonia feels right.

Frequently asked questions

Before you begin.

What is online anxiety therapy?

Online anxiety therapy is a private space to explore the thoughts, feelings, situations and habits that are keeping anxiety active in your life. Sessions take place by video and combine therapeutic understanding with practical support for the moments that matter.

Do I need to know what is causing my anxiety?

No. You may have a clear sense of what has changed, or only know that you do not feel like yourself. The work can begin with what you are noticing now, then make room to understand the patterns and pressures around it.

Is this therapy or coaching?

Therapy & Coaching brings both together. Some sessions need space to understand and process what you are carrying. Others focus on a boundary, conversation, decision or way of responding that you want to practise in everyday life.

Are sessions online only?

Yes. Sonia works online from Bicester with clients throughout the UK and worldwide. You can attend from a quiet, private place where you can speak freely.

What if I need urgent help?

This service is not an emergency service. If you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, contact emergency services or an appropriate urgent mental-health service straight away.
